MUSIC MAKERS
– COURSE FOR TEENS (12+)
Llull annexe, Carrer de Llull, 48,
Location — Bridge 48
The course is about music production. But not only that. It is also about feelings, sounds, movements, ideas. Anything you need before starting to create a music track. We will learn how to listen to and feel the world around you, yourself and each other. And, clearly, we will study the software that contemporary musicians use while creating our own project of a track.
In this course, we’ll combine practical and theory educational blocks in order to switch focus and keep being productive. We will look into work with your body and your speech. We also offer three lessons outside the class when we will drop by a bar and try ourselves as vinyl DJs, one walk around the city and a night where the participants are supposed to organise a dj performans with theirs own tracks.
THE PROCESS
WHAT IS THE COURSE ABOUT?
THE PROCESS
Each good movie has a good story. Everyone has a story to share and we will try to discover what is this special story YOU are the right person to tell. We will work on the production process and all the important aspects and stages of filmmaking to have a clear and complete picture of "how the stuff gets done". You will also learn about such crucial parts of filmmaking as cinematography, lighting, editing, acting.
THE RESULT
As a result of the course, the participants will master Ableton, understand how to create, record and mix tracks, both within the tool and with the use of external media. The course will be held at Bridge, 48, a creative space for musicians where we’ll be offered a chance to interact with Barcelona-based musicians and DJs. The course will help you understand whether you want to grow professionally in this field and keep making music or not.
FOR WHOM IS THE COURSE?
This course was developed for 12−16 years old teenagers who take interest in music and would like to know more about creating modern music, including electronic music, and to learn using professional tools such as Ableton, for creating their own music tracks, mixing sounds, melody and voice. A skill of playing a musical instrument is not required.
THE RESULT
In this course theory is strongly linked to practice. You will work on practical filmmaking projects — followed by screening, feedback and discussion. By the end of the course you’ll have several pieces shot — from a music video to a short film. The main goal is to bring you closer to understanding your own unique sense of beauty and providing you with tools to express it.
