BRUSSELS COMICS ART CAMP
25th-30th September
FOR WHOM?
The course is designed for artists who have experience in drawing and want to improve their skills in comics. Being a student of art, design, illustration course of any institute is not necessary for the course, but it would be very helpfull if you had already tried to draw comics yourself even if it wasn’t that successful yet (we'll do everything together to change it). To know more about our camps â€” check the report and reviews from our last trip!
CONTENT
The course includes the theoretical part (different lectures on comic language and application of comics) as well as active exercises and a lot of drawing practice and regular results reviews. We’ll do some comics strips, a comic adaptation and will document on of our days in comic format. At the end of the course, you’ll have time to work on bigger comics and the teacher will help you a lot with that.
What’s so special about comics? How do they differ from other types of art? How do panels and bubbles work in a comics? How can you travel through time with the help of comics? What are the areas of comics application and how can you use comics in you art practice? We will get acquainted with the Language and philosophy of comics and find out how different stories can be told with the help of sequential art, as well as try to create different comics ourselves and get to know this secret world from the inside.
